Since the early days of 3D computer-generated imagery a lot has changed. In 1982 the cult movie Tron was one of the first mainstream productions that showed the potential of 3D CGI, in the early 1990s the world witnessed the breakthrough of realtime 3D games, followed by Pixar’s first feature 3D animation: Toy Story.

From the late 1980s to the late 1990s I was lucky enough to call myself a professional game graphic artist. In those days computer game development was in the middle of a revolution from 2D to 3D visuals, but I preferred the charming simplicity of 2D pixel graphics, nowadays referred to as pixel art.

AC: Hi Metin. I’m a tracker musician researching the history of chipmusic for a master thesis. Currently I’m looking the epistemology of the word chipmusic (or chiptune). Since you were involved with SIDmon (the first synthetic Amiga tracker, right?) I wanted to ask if you have any memories of this.

Hi Anders. That’s the coolest master thesis subject I’ve heard of so far. :-)
